So this morning I got up and commenced to moving furniture. As usual the moving of the furniture took some creative thought. I had to move my dresser and vanity which were being used as a wall for my office. It's an upstairs attic room and right in the middle is a chimney. So I used those two things to divide my bedroom area from my office area.
Without those two things making the wall I had to come up with another idea. So I remembered I had a tension rod in the basement and I had left over sari material. So I bought those little doohickeys that hold a rod in the closet and nailed them between my office hutch and the wall. Then I inserted the pole and hung the saris. Looks pretty dang good for a spur of the moment solution.
However I thought it would take a few hours and it actually took all day long. Partly I think because I also cleaned and organized my office area. But the results are definitely worth it! Tomorrow I plan to tackle the guest room.
These pictures are like a panoramic view of my room if you were to walk into it. The first picture would be to your right.
This is where I originally had the dresser and vanity as the wall divider. The item you see draped over the sari curtain is a costume piece. It is an awkward item to display and store. This actually is a good place for it and I was happy that it worked.

Here is the window where the bed used to be. I loved having the bed right under the window but even though the window is a storm window there still was a draft coming through. Now the window is an open space. Some how moving the bed opened up the room. Not something I expected at all. But it sure looks nice. This last picture would be to your left. I placed the vanity at an angle not sure if I like it that way for sure but will leave it and decide later if I should move it. The black on the floor at the end of the bed is a lambs wool rug. The long white expanse of wall is over a baseboard heater. Nothing can go near the heater but I hope to find a way to decorate the wall. Perhaps some rectangle mirrors or pictures. I'll think of something.
After all the work I took a nice long bubble bath. Wow can't wait to go to bed and sleep in my "new" bedroom. Hopefully I won't wake up in the night and stumble on something in the dark. LOL.
Oh the dresser went to the office area next to one I already had there. Funny, I went to find my jammies and walked right past it and looked in the old spot. I am sure it will take me a while to get used to the new set up.
