This weekend I will be headed for Portland to be with my crazy and wild family. I come from a very large family. I had a very large family myself and so did many of my siblings. Now our children are having children. So when we get together it is definately more than a houseful!
However we have so much fun together, we have a chance to catch up with each other and I get to see my mom, who is coming in from Arizona. Last time I saw her was in Aug. at the family reunion. I have missed seeing her.
Santa always arrives, usually someone's new boyfriend gets talked into being Santa, and all the kids get a present from "Santa".
It is always loud, people coming and going, babies crying, kids laughing or fighting but in the end it is great to be with family once more.
I can't wait to see my mom, brothers, sisters and assorted and often names forgotten relatives!
I have been making presents. Shhhh can't tell what it is....for people and wrapping presents like mad. Every available surface of my house is covered with some sort of craft project. I have been helping the little ones make presents for their parents. So glitter abounds everywhere.
I have yet to fill out the christmas cards I will take to portland but it will get done before friday, or like my mom I will be hiding out in a bedroom in Portland frantically filling out cards.....LOL You know it's true mom!
Next week will seem a little more quiet once this bit to do is done. I only have one child next week. Then my son and his family will be here for Christmas. I can't wait!
