How time flys....bzzzzzz

Wow here it is Memorial Day weekend. I can't believe that time is just going by so fast. I had a wonderful time visiting my daughter and SF.

Our hotel was not too far from the wharf. The trolleys ran by the hotel we stayed in. However it was five bucks a person to ride one. yowch in the pocket book. So we grabbed a city bus and in no time we arrived at Pier 39. Pier 39 is the happening place to go when visiting SF. It is like a glorified Pike's market except way more commercial.

My favorite part was the sea lions who hang out on the docks near the pier. Most of them were all laid out in the SF sunshine (with gale force winds LOL). However a few just seemed to want to bother everyone who was trying to get some rays. They would glide up to the dock and give the closest lounging sea lion a nip. Then the whole dock would erupt in a cacophony of loud bassoon braying from all the sea lions. One of the biggest ones (usually a male) would lunge at the intruder and bray him out of town. The renegade sea lion would then swim away to find another victim.

On another dock a very large sea lion was playing king of the mountain. Every time a sea lion would climb on it's dock there would be a shoving match and the intruding sea lion would be pushed back in the water. When we asked at the sea lion kiosk the guide said the sea lions were playing. (both times)

We had a great breakfast outing with my daughter. It was great to meet her partner once more. Unfortunately her partner had thrown her back out on the job and was in a lot of pain during out visit. ):

We want to go back and do some more sightseeing. L has never been there and this was such a short visit that we just didn't get to see very much.

Hugs to my daughter for picking us up at the airport and healing thoughts to her partner. I hope her back is all better.

This weekend L and I are going to Vancouver Canada. It will be a short over night trip and we have a whole list of places to visit. We won't get to see most of the sights but Vancouver is pretty close and I am sure we will return.
