arghhhh grinding teeth in frustration!

I was so happy to find out that I would qualify for free weatherization last month. So they made an appointment with me to come out and do some more assessment on what needs to be done. I am not one that hangs around the house much even though I have three little charges three and under. Today was a bonus day as two are on vacation so that means I only have one little one to deal with during the appointment. So I said I would be home for the appointment, 10 am today.

Ten arrives and no one shows. I call the City of Seattle housing department. Hmm no real person is in so leave a message. I leave the message. I also call another number that was given to me by the first guy that came out, he called a few days later and said if you need anything give me a call. So I did, no real person just message phone." Uh Ken, no one is here, no one is answering the main phone number, is anyone going to show up?" I wait another 45 minutes, no return phone calls. I call the first number, Oh my God, the real person answers!

me:" Hi, someone was supposed to come out a 10 and do an assessment, are they coming?"

her: " oh what was the name?"

me: " Mr. so and so"

her: " oh he's at a conference today, Mr. another so and so is supposed to be taking his jobs for today."

me: "Well is he going to be here?"

her: "I don't have that information, you'll have to call (you guessed it) his message phone."

me: "ok but I am really frustrated as I don't know if i need to stick around, and I moved my furniture away from my crawl spaces. (thinking to myself and I am damn cold in this house!)

her: " So sorry but you will have to call him. "

Me: "grrrr alright"

So I get off the phone and call this guys message phone. "Uh Mr. So and So my name is blah blah blah, and someone was supposed to be out at 10 and no one is here. I made special arrangements to be here. Please call me and let me know when you will be here. blah blah blah thank you."

It's 12:45, no return call. Maybe he is at lunch, maybe he's on break, maybe he only checks his phone messages at 5 when he gets OFF work.

I hate wating and not knowing. I guess I will call again..............

Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of ....Waiting for the City of Seattle Housing guy
