Thoughts in the night

Wow! its been a while since I posted. LOL, my garden is now a muddy dirt pit covered in cardboard to keep the weeds at bay until spring.

I have these really deep thoughts (subjective)  right before I go to sleep. Ones I think I will remember but of course if they are right before my Ambien induced sleep they are pretty much gone.

However I did remember one and the whole concept makes me angry. How come we can get such cheap auto insurance to replace our cars and their parts should an accident happen and not get the same type of insurance for health care?

I mean really there is a lot of competition in the car insurance field. They are fighting for our dollars...(here I imagine that little geckko with boxing gloves on)

The interesting thing is I haven't heard of  car insurance companies whining how they will go out of business because of all the competition. Yet big health insurance are whining (not to mention giving senators lots of money to listen to them) that if there is competition , OH MY GOD THEY WILL GO OUT OF BUSINESS! I think pharmaceutical companies are whining the same tune.

Yes there are deductibles in car insurance...you pick em... for the most part but hey I don't mind paying 250 as my share to remove dents if I should have an accident. My health insurance for the same rate expects me to pay 5000 deductible  to fix "dent's" in my body. God forbid anything should happen to me as I don't have a slush fund of 5000. So cars are treated and taken better care of than people in the good ole USA.

Oh wait can't I ask the government for a bail out like all the big banks??? Sorry Mr. President I was using my money to live on. I know I should have kept some back but hey we are in a depression oops I mean recession and I made some bad decisions like ..oh say pay my rent and have groceries, electricity etc etc etc.

I'll hold out my hand, big eyes like those old seventies pictures and poof  I'll get a nice lump sum with admonishes to pay better attention to where my money goes. No more paying for necessities...aren't there poor houses to house the poor? They are called cars for many....(sorry Dicken's just seemed appropriate.)

A prescription that I put off getting until I absolutely have to cost me over 200.00 here in the USA. It would  cost me 72.50 in Great Britain, true story...However not for the people who live in Great Britain. They get it free along with their health care. However my government cautions me that it may be inferior product if it comes from another country, even Canada...oh give me a break! (rolling my eyes!)

I didn't use to be so cynical but I think having my health insurance raised (to better serve me) each year (since I turned 50) on my birthday by 30 to 40 dollars has made me that way. WTF

Guess I am a tad cranky from waking up with a head cold..
