California here I come....

I have been busy getting ready for Christmas. I like to craft presents and so my house looks like a craft warehouse! I am slowly cleaning it up and putting crafts supplies away as I want the house clean before I leave to visit my daughter in Sunnyvale on Friday.

I have a few things yet to do but I did finish my baking tonight. I made cookies and fudge. Wow the fudge is always so rich! I already feel like I am over fudge! It's all those little tastes to make sure it will be a good batch... burp....oh yes time to grab a giant glass of milk!

Tomorrow I will be making some covers for my gf couch pillows. It is part of her Christmas wish list. I will wash clothes, finish cleaning and then pack! yippeee

Today I went to the Redmond Town Center, my employers gave me 100 dollars in gift cards that could only be used there. I don't generally do malls. I used to relish going to malls but the older I get the more I have to get in the mind frame to go.

It wasn't as busy as I feared which was great and I actually found a great parking space. I was able to get a great fitting pair of jeans at the Gap. I won't even have to hem them, which means my next jeans purchase will be at the Gap too. I am short on one end so I usually have to hem the jeans or have them hemmed. It was a blessing to find a pair that is as Goldilocks said.." is just right" LOL. I also purchased nice lounge pants to wear on the plane. They are nice looking, don't need to be hemmed either and will be oh so comfortable for the plane ride.

I had mentioned in a prior post about a doll I have been working on for a friend. Well he is all done and turned out beautifully. I had given him a wig and was unhappy about how it looked so I hand rooted some hair under it. It really improved the look. Then I hand rooted his little lashes, they are pale red and match his hair. My friend wanted a little cowboy so I had ordered a little cowboy outfit and it arrived earlier this week. So I took new pictures and put him in the mail for my friend. I hope she likes him as much as I do!

In the meantime I made another little girl doll. She is not promised to anyone and so is sitting in my room. Maybe she will be sold or I will give her to someone else. Right now I don't have the time or energy to think about it.

I am looking forward to seeing my daughter in Sunnyvale, the weather has got to be much better there. Here in Washington we had one heck of a windstorm. I lost my power for about a day and a half. Now I don't like not having power but I did get a little creeped out when I was trying to find gas for my car.

My family has a get together every year in Portland Or. I hadn't heard when it was to occur and had figured it wasn't happening. But on Friday I called my mom to see where she was as I had a gift for her. To my surprise she was in Portland and asked me if I was coming to the party! So after talking with her a while I decided to drive to Portland that afternoon. After all I didn't have any electricity and I would be at my sisters house where it would be warm. So I packed up jumped in my car and got on the freeway. However as I got going I realized that I had only a quarter tank of gas and would need more for the trip. So I pulled off in Kent. I searched and searched and searched and there was no gas..NO Electricity=No gas! It was creepy to realize how it really shut down the towns. I ended up turning around and going back home. I called my mom and told her I would try again the next day. Lucky for me my neighborhood got back it's electricity and I was able to get gas at the local station. However the line was long and it was a thirty minute wait in line.

I made it to the party and really enjoyed seeing all my relatives. Santa made a special appearance and the multitude of little ones present really got a thrill!

The weather here really has been goofy. Tonight we are supposed to get wind gusts once more in the vicinity of 40 to 50 miles an hour! Yikes!!!!!

Like I said California here I come......
