New Home

Wow can you believe that it is already March! Judging by the weather you sure wouldn't know it. Seattle has had snow mixed with rain in the last week!

I have been looking for a new place to live these last few months. I love the apartment where I live now but the drug dealing in front of my house is unnerving to say the least. Also I drive 90 miles a week in a round trip to my jobs. Going there on the freeway in the morning is not so bad but coming home at rush hour is a real headache. Sometimes it takes as much as an hour to get home.

So I have been perusing Craigslist in search of what the going rate was for renting a house. Wow I was shocked to say the least. It looked like I would have to find an apartment to match what I felt I could afford for rent.

However, a neighbor friend of one of my employers had told me that she was wanting to buy her own home. I told her if that happened I would be interested in renting the house she was now in. You see it is only two twenty five more than what I am paying now. An amount that I felt my budget could handle.

Well she got the house and gave me the phone number of her landlady. I called the landlady and talked with her for an hour. My biggest fear was that the landlady would not be able to hold the house until June 1st, the earliest I could move in . The next was that the move in cost would be prohibitive. But to my amazement and delight she said she could hold the house until june 1st, and she arranged a move in fee that I could handle without a lot of strain and stress on my budget!

The house is close enough to two of my jobs to walk or bike and my third job site is only a 10 minute drive.

The house itself has two bedrooms. The whole attic upstairs has been converted to one giant bedroom and the second smaller bedroom is on the main floor. There is a long living room dining room combination a good size kitchen and a bathroom with a clawfoot tub. ooh la la can't wait for a nice candle lit bath night. (: There is a full unfinished basement. But it is finished enough to be able to store things in. It has a small room constructed there.(unfinished). A washer and dryer is included. The stairs to the basement has a small sunroom like deck as you go down the stairs right off the kitchen. There is a small front porch, a really nice sized yard. I can't wait to plant some flowers and maybe I will join the tomato wars with Cedarflame and her friend. he he he.

Every night when I drive home I can't help but think..."i could be home now!" Soon it will be true!
